The CDN system is specifically designed for use with urban and everyday bikes.
Bikes that are ridden in wind and weather, parked at the train station or outside your home. Bikes where undemandingness and reliability are particularly important. The CDN system is a quiet, clean, low-maintenance drive for everyday urban use and is based on the same carbon fiber technology as Gates top components. In the CDN system, the belt's carbon fibers are embedded in a polymer-based plastic. Low maintenance is a higher priority for CDN components than durability compared to the other Gates groups. However, their service life still exceeds that of a regular bicycle chain by an average of about one and a half times. The CDN system thus offers a particularly inexpensive introduction to Gates technology.
No rust or oil residue for clean fingers and pant legs. The Gates Carbon Drive does not require any lubrication. It has a dirt-repellent surface and can be easily cleaned with water when needed.

Closed, circumferential carbon fiber strands transmit drive power directly and without elastic stretch for maximum safety and efficiency. The patented tooth profile prevents the belt from skipping even when high force is applied.
