The future of bicycle drive
Gates Carbon Drive is a carbon fiber reinforced drive belt with a patented tooth design. It has been specially developed for use on bicycles and pedelecs. Thanks to circumferential, closed carbon strands, the Carbon Drive transmits the drive power to the rear wheel with high efficiency and without backlash, without stretching elastically. A center guide of the belt, called Center Track, prevents it from jumping off the pulleys. A Carbon Drive belt, unlike the chain, requires neither lubrication nor special care. Dirt and mud can simply be removed with water. Rust and oil deposits are a thing of the past. The Carbon Drive is cleaner, quieter, lighter and more durable than a classic chain drive.
