TRENDSETTING DESIGN AND MINIMAL WEIGHT - NEW E-BIKE MODELS FROM AMPLER WITH GATES CARBON DRIVE

Ampler: Lightweight high-end e-bikes from Estonia

Estonian e-bike manufacturer and direct seller Ampler stands out from the crowd of urban bike companies not only because of its forward-thinking, sleek design. Ampler e-bikes are also among the lightest on the market. The recently introduced, brand new models Axel and Juna belong to the second model generation and weigh only 16.5 and 16.3 kg respectively - and that with complete street-legal equipment, mudguards and a kickstand. The Axel is a fast, moderately sporty commuter e-bike with a classic men's bike design. The Juna, on the other hand, focuses more on comfort, with a low top tube and a high front for relaxed cycling. Both new models are equipped with the Gates Carbon Drive. The bikes not only benefit from the technical advantages of a clean, quiet, low-maintenance and comfortable drive. The Carbon Drive also perfectly underlines the tidy reduced design and the product philosophy of Ampler. Comfort, ease of use, efficiency, durability and dynamics are important criteria that always catch the eye in Ampler's numerous innovative detailed solutions.

The rear hub motor used on the new Ampler models is a completely in-house development. In combination with a torque sensor, it dynamically amplifies the pedaling force and thus ensures a smooth and natural riding experience. When the motor assistance is switched off, on the other hand, no resistance is noticeable.

All second-generation Ampler e-bikes feature a new electronics platform. It includes a display integrated into the top tube, via which all technical riding data can be called up clearly and intuitively, as well as an interface for controlling the motor assistance and lighting. The power button for switching on the system is located on the underside of the top tube below the display. The new electronics also include a GPS function that allows tracking and locking in case of theft. A data interface for an app developed by Ampler increases ease of use and functionality. However, there are no restrictions for using the bikes without an app or smartphone.

The revised battery features intelligent battery management and is housed in the down tube. It can be removed for maintenance work. The new Ampler models have a battery capacity for a range of up to 70 km and require only 2.5 hours for a full charge. The magnetic charging socket is discreetly located in the lower part of the seat tube and has a dust cover. Shift cables, cables and brake lines are routed internally, which emphasizes the tidy design and clean lines.

Both Juna and Axel are equipped with 27.5 wheels and 50 mm wide tires with puncture protection, making riding safe and comfortable on almost any surface. The new, integrated Trelock mudguard taillights feature a brake light function. The bright front headlights from Busch & Müller ensures vision and visibility at all times. A luggage rack and trailer adapter are optionally available for both models.

In addition to the two new models Axel and Juna, Ampler has also facelifted its existing models and equipped them with the latest technology package.

The minimalist Curt model focuses uncompromisingly on lightweight construction, sportiness and speed. At only 14.4 kg, it is one of the lightest commuter e-bikes ever. The Ampler Stellar, on the other hand, with its medium-low entry, offers a balanced mix of sportiness and comfort. As a sporty and comfortable all-rounder, the Stout model covers the same range of use as the Stellar and is almost identically equipped, but comes in the style of a classic diamond frame with a high top tube.

Arno Kaurit, CEO and co-founder of Ampler on the launch of the second generation model:

"The introduction of the second generation is a major milestone for Ampler. It is the result of years of development based on our own cycling experience. It combines the knowledge gained from maintenance and assembly, as well as all the feedback we have gathered from thousands of Ampler riders. We call it the second generation because almost everything is new, including fully in-house designed frames and electronics systems that deliver the full Ampler experience. We are passionate about developing electric bikes for urban commuting - bikes that are exciting, durable, safe and responsibly built. I believe we are a big step closer to our goal with the new generation."

Ampler will offer test rides of the new bikes at its showrooms in Berlin, Cologne, Amsterdam, Tallinn and soon in Zurich. In addition Brand Ambassadors will be offering test drives in more than 30 cities across Europe, including a new partner store in Norway, starting in April.
